When Robert was 2 years old, the family relocated to 213 Franklin Avenue, Edwardsville, Illinois. Robert's father, Henry, died soon thereafter. By July, Private Taylor was at Camp Beauregard, Louisiana, as a member of Company M, 156th Infantry Division and was on a transport to France on August 11,1918. Private Feldner arrived in France on September 4, fell ill within a week and died from pneumonia a week after that. He is survived by his mother and a brother, Harry. Private Robert H. Feldner is buried in Bartlett Cemetery in rural Pin Oak Township and was 27 years and 5 months of age.
