Edgar W. Brunnworth

March 30, 1921 - July 10th, 1942

Edgar W. Brunnworth was born on a farm between Hamel and Worden, IL to Mr. & Mrs. Fred E. Brunnworth. He was a member of the Gehlenbeck Church near Hamel and attended public school in Worden. He married Ms. Georgia May Naylor in October of 1941 and entered military service on June 30, 1942. He was stationed at Jefferson Barracks in St. Louis, MO. Private Brunnworth was home on a 14-day leave and took a job at the H. H. Stevens farm near Kane IL with his brother-in-law, Howard Naylor. The two men were constructing a raft made of barrels when it collapsed on them in 15 feet of water and both men were drowned. Private Edgar W. Brunnworth is survived by his wife, his parents, three sisters, Mrs. Rosina Meyer, Mrs. Lillie Halbe and Mrs. Tony Ostrowsky and three brothers, Erhard, Oscar and Arthur. Private Edgar W. Brunnworth was 21 years, 3 months and 10 days of age.
