William F. Landa Jr.

Sergeant - United States Army

August 2, 1913 - January 12th, 1945

William F. Landa Jr. is the son of Mr. & Mrs. William Landa Sr. of Glen Carbon, IL. William was employed by the U.S. Radiator Company before he joined the Army in January, 1942. Sergeant William F. Landa Jr. went overseas in June, 1944 as a member of a tank unit and was emngaged in the fampous "Battle of the Bulge". He was killed in Belgium and is interred at Henri - Chapelle American Cemetery and Memorial in Liege, Belgium. Sgt. Landa Jr. has a memorial marker in the Buck Road Cemetery, Glen Carbon, Illinois on Route 162. Besides his parents, Sgt. Landa is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary Garrett Landa and six sisters. Sergeant William F. Landa Jr. was 31 years, 6 months and 10 days of age.
