Leonard T. Sedlacek

Private First Class - United States Army

March 16, 1916 - March 19th, 1945

Leonard T. Sedlacek is the son of Mr. & Mrs. Thomas Sedlacek of Glen Carbon, IL. His mother and a sister preceded him in death. Leonard grew up in Glen Carbon and attended local public schools. He joined the Army and was sent to the Pacific theater to fight the Japanese. Private First Class Leonard T. Sedlacek was killed in action during the Philippine invasion of Luzon Island. The funeral service was at Straube Funeral Home in Edwardsville, followed by a requeim mass at St. Cecelia Catholic Church in Glen Carbon. Burial with full military honors, provided by the Edwardsville American Legion took place in Buck Road Cemetery on IL. Rte. 162. Surviving are his father and two sisters, Mrs. Sylvia Holman and Mrs. Lilliam Wiler. Private First Class Leonard T. Sedlacek was 29 years and 3 days of age.
