Ronald E. Rohrkaste is the son of Mr. Robert & Mrs. Ruth Rohrkaste of 214 Garden St., Edwardsville IL. Ron grew up in Edwardsville, was a member of DeMolay and attended local public schools. He graduated from Edwardsville High School Class of 1966. Afterwards, he accepted a position with Southern Iron Company in St. Louis, MO and worked there until his induction into the Army in September, 1967. His last home leave was December of 1967 and left for Viet Nam on December 18, 1967. Private First Class Ronald E. Rohrkaste was killed in action in the mountainous region of Da Nang Province, Viet Nam. He is survived by his parents and a brother, Robert Jr.. Private First Class Ronald E. Rohrkaste is buried in Bartlett Cemetery, Pin Oak Township. He was 20 years, one month and 5 days of age.
